The Nurture Team is led by Sian Gilmartin BSc (Hons), MBA, Dip CAH, PNLP, HPD - the Nurture Clinical Hypno-Psychotherapist & Teacher. Sian is an experienced practitioner in general practice, with advanced training in areas such as Fertility, Birthing, Parenting, Antenatal Education and the Postnatal Period. Sian is a mum to a little boy Logan and her daughter Raphaella, who allowed Sian to experience first hand the joy of 2 glorious pregnancies and births, and the joys, ups & downs of motherhood along the way!

Alexandra has been studying and practising acupuncture since 1998. She brings her breadth of knowledge from both a western medical perspective from
her degree in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1993, and from her qualification in Classical 5 Element Acupuncture from the
College of Traditional Acupuncture in 1998. She has also carried out post-graduate studies in acupuncture in palliative care, fertility and obstetric acupuncture, numerous musculoskeletal conditions and management of post-mastectomy complications and lymphoedema. She is also a cranio-Sacral therapist and bowen technique practitioner. At present she is also studying nutritional healing with the Nutritional Healing Foundation.
Alexandra’s style is to provide a supportive, relaxed environment using gentle needling and, if appropriate, a variety of hands-on techniques . Her areas of special interests include: Musculoskeletal conditions which include back and neck pain and sciatica, mentrual disorders, infertility and IVF assistance, pregnancy care, chronic illnesses involving stress, tension and anxiety.
Alexandra has considerable experience within the NHS in her capacity as a physiotherapist specialising in treating post breast surgery complications with myofascial release techniques and has been a lymphoedema key worker.
She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Acupuncture Fertility Network.
Rona Gilmartin is an acupuncturist in the 5 element tradition, an Oki-Do Yoga teacher and massage therapist. She is experienced in working with addictions and teaches Oki-Do Yoga in a therapeutic community rehabilitation centre. Rona practices Glasgow and in Stewarton in Ayrshire. Rona brings a wonderful range of massage to nurture and is trained in Esalen, Slavic and Shiatsu Massage. She offers a deeply nourishing whole body massage in order to allow the receiver to enjoy warm, relaxing contact in a safe place. The massage can be tailored to ease aching joints and soothe tight muscles and wrought emotions!
Lucie Shaw is the nurture massage therapist for Bumps and New Mums! Lucie is qualified in Swedish and Aromatherapy Massage, Sports & Remedial Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Post Natal Massage and a whole host of nourishing therapies. Lucie loves what she does and will truly make your visit to nurture a blissful one. Lucie will be a familiar face at Nurture and will be part of all our exciting plans for the future.
